Sheryl Clark Productions LOVES working with authors...
I very much enjoy working with authors bringing their books to life with trailers or mini-movies as well as cover art design. One of the things that helps me the most is reading the entire book. I know some trailer makers just read the synopsis, but for me reading the entire book gives me the best sense of the mood and characters of the book.
I like to have personal connection with the author and have them be part of my creative process. Everyone interprets books differently, so I feel best when I get to work closely with the author to make sure that I have understood what they intended the book to be. We also talk in detail about what the author wants to portray in the trailer...what elements the author doesn't want revealed...which elements or characters the author wants to highlight.
This is just a taste of the experience I provide with working with authors whether it be the cover art design or their trailer.

Want a Unique Book Cover....I Gotta Ya Covered
One of the benefits of being a photographer myself is that I can shoot the cover image.
The unique thing about what I do is that I use a special type of screen and projector...NOT a green screen...much higher technology than green screen. It's called Virtual Backgrounds. It allows me to place a model in front of any scene possible WITHOUT having to extract the person as in green screen. It makes a much cleaner and realistic image for your cover.
Say... you want a girl looking at the ocean, but don't have the budget to get to the ocean...I can use an image of the ocean and photograph the girl as though she was at the ocean. Pretty neat, huh??
Of course, I am always willing to travel to the ocean to take the picture....hahaha.

Getting Just the Right Image for Book Cover
Have you looked and looked for an image for a book cover, but just can't find the perfect image???
It's a common problem. But have no fear....help is on the way!!!
WARNING: DON'T TRY THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE A TRAINED PROFESSIONAL......heeeheee
Sometimes you can adjust an image to make it fit the mood you are looking for....that's what a professional such as myself can do.
Maybe you need just some adjustments to the color, brightness or contrast...OR you might want to add something to image to make it just right.
I am willing to work with authors needing help designing your book covers. I am professional, prompt and ready to help you get the book cover you need.

Recording Voice Overs for a New Trailer
So...yesterday Mia Castile and I worked with some high school kids to record the voice overs for the trailer for her debut eBook "The Ocean" coming out April 19, 2011. It was a fantastic experience. Our high school kids, Drew Harper, Kelsey Robertson and Eleanor Holley did a fantastic job playing the characters in the book.
But what would a voice over session be without technical difficulties!! UGH! Seriously....it took moving mountains to make all of this work....WHY couldn't the technology as least go smoothly!
In the end, we got what we needed and had a great time doing so.
I will post some of the video footage from the session so you can see some of what goes into the putting together a trailer.
The trailer will be out earlier this week....so, be on the look out for that.
